Laney Scheduled For December Trial On Meth Charges.


Patricia Laney, who was taken into federal custody last July when she crossed back into the United States from Mexico at Brownsville, Texas, has been scheduled for a December trial on methamphetamine possession charges.

Ms. Laney, 26, was indicted by a federal grand jury for delivering half a pound of methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver over 500 grams of methamphetamine to undercover officers in Cleveland, Tennessee.

She left the area, but was taken into custody at a border crossing where she attempted to gain entry using an alias.

During a detention hearing on Tuesday, Ms. Laney was ordered to remain in federal custody.
